Portraits by Cézanne
Published: 12 July 2017
From 13 June 2017 to 24 September 2017
Musée d'Orsay Paris is hosting an exhibition called "Portraits by Cézanne" from June 13th until September 24th, 2017. This major exhibition aims to bring together over 50 portraits by this great artist from all over the world including many that have never been exhibited in Europe under one roof.
Although Paul Cézanne was known for his still life and landscape paintings, he also mastered the art of portraiture to perfection and painted close to 200 portraits of his relatives, friends and even his gardener.
Through the works that are exhibited in this show, you can properly explore his creation of complimentary pairs and multiple versions of the same subject.
The organizers of this exhibition have arranged these works of art chronologically making it easy for visitors to get into the mind and thoughts of this painter.
Some of the works on display include the final portraits of Vallier who was the artist’s gardener and the remarkable portraits of his uncle Dominique in which Cézanne employed thick applications of paint via a palette knife.
Hotel Riviera Elysées Paris is within a short distance from Musée d'Orsay. So, don't hesitate to attend the exhibition.
